A once-in-a-lifetime hunt for the Northern Lights
Snow Travels is a small, local tour company based in Tromsø — the heart of Arctic Norway. We believe the best Northern Lights experiences happen when you feel like you are out with friends, not on a bus tour. That's why we run our tours in small groups of max. 15 people in a minibus — personal, intimate, and flexible.
Your experienced local guide will pick you up in the city center and take you on a breathtaking journey through Tromsø's mountains, fjords and valleys. Along the way we make stops to take photos of the stunning scenery and check for the Aurora Borealis.

Cozy, flexible, and ready for any weather
Traveling in a small group in a minibus creates a cozy atmosphere, and we are more flexible on the road to reach remote and distant places in the countryside. Arctic nature is unpredictable and wild, so expect an unforgettable experience.
Do not worry about the cold temperatures — we provide insulated whole-body suits to keep you warm. Your guide takes photos during the tour, and we bring extra tripods and even a spare camera that you can use for the evening.
We aim to ensure your safety while having the lifetime experience with the northern lights during your Arctic stay. There will be a warm meal and hot drinks, as well as typical Norwegian snacks served, so you can enjoy the bonfire. If you are a vegetarian or have specific dietary preferences, inform us, and we will make you a nice meal. After the tour, we will take you directly to your hotels in the main city centre.

The honest answers.
01What happens if we do not see the Northern Lights?
Nature is unpredictable, and the Aurora can not be guaranteed. If conditions are poor, we may cancel the tour and offer you a new date or a full refund.
02What should I wear?
We provide warm insulated whole-body suits, but we still recommend wearing warm wool underlayers, thick socks, a hat, and sturdy winter boots.
03How long does the tour last?
Most hunts last between 6 and 8 hours, depending on where we need to drive to find clear skies and active Aurora.
04Is food included?
Yes. We serve a warm meal by the bonfire, plus hot drinks and typical Norwegian snacks. Vegetarian and other dietary preferences are catered for if you let us know in advance.
05How many people are in the group?
We keep our groups small — a maximum of 15 guests in a comfortable minibus, so the experience feels personal and flexible.
06Can children join?
Children are welcome, but the late hours and cold temperatures mean this tour is best suited for ages 8 and up. Contact us if you are unsure.
07Where are we picked up?
We pick you up at your hotel or a central meeting point in Tromsø city centre, and drop you off at the same location after the tour.
